James has extensive experience of advising employers and employees on all aspects of employment law, including contentious cases before the Employment Tribunal and the Court. Particular areas of expertise include business immigration, unfair dismissal, discrimination, redundancy programmes, restrictive covenants, transfers of undertakings (TUPE), restraint of trade, work-related stress, internet / e-mail abuse, employment status (employed or self-employee) and drafting contracts and employment policies.
James works closely with HR professionals as a specialist resource for their business, providing guidance on the management of HR issues.
James is a past member of the panel of Chairmen of the General Synod of the Church of England and a member of the Clergy Discipline Commission of the Church of England. He is also a co-author of the Code of Practice under the Clergy Discipline Measure.
