Matthew is a Solicitor in the Commercial Litigation Department and also assists the Personal Injury Team with Defendant based work. Matthew trained with the firm, having joined in August 2006, and started his training contract with Trethowans in November 2006. He qualified as a Solicitor in November 2008.
Throughout his career at Trethowans Matthew has spent time working in Farms and Estates, Corporate, Personal Injury, Family and Commercial Litigation under the supervision of senior solicitors and partners. He qualified into the Commercial Litigation Team but continues to assist senior fee earners on Personal Injury Defendant work.
Matthew's work in the Litigation Team covers contract disputes, wills and estates base disputes, insolvency issues and accident loss claims. Matthew also deals with co-habitation, landlord and tenant and other property disputes having gained a large amount of experience in these areas following his time in the Farms and Estates and Family Teams.

Matthew is a keen sportsman and is heavily involved in football, cricket and ice hockey. He has recently joined Millbrook RFC and runs the Southampton Commoners touch rugby side.
Outside of sport Matthew enjoys reading and is currently (struggling) to learn how to play the guitar.
