Matthew advises on all aspects of employment law, including contentious and non-contentious issues on behalf of employers and individual employees.

He advises a range of clients from small businesses through to international companies across various sectors including the NHS. He has successfully acted for many employers and employees in the Employment Tribunal.

Matthew’s areas of particular expertise include discrimination, unfair dismissal and difficult disciplinary and grievance issues. He is also experienced in preparing service agreements, contracts of employment, employee handbooks and employment-related policies.

After gaining employment law experience with two other law firms, joined Trethowans in 2007
