What the Guides to the Legal Profession say about us
There are two independent guides to the legal profession in the UK who research and produce directories about the UK legal profession. Their listings are highly sought after and represent a true accolade to the firms, teams and individuals who receive a rating and a mention. The two bodies are Chambers and Partners and Legal 500. Below is a brief description of each:
Chambers and Partners have been publishing their world-famous guides to the legal profession since 1990.
The Chambers Guides list the top lawyers in 175 countries, providing independent rankings and editorial commentary.
They are recognised by the quality of their research. With 100 experienced researchers, they are dedicated to investigating the legal profession in all the main areas of practice. They talk to clients and find out which law firms they use and how they rate them for their legal ability and client service. On the basis of this research, they identify the world's top lawyers.

The Legal 500 team of researchers speaks to thousands of law firm commercial clients every year. Their Law Firm Recommendations are based largely on what those clients tell them - plus they also get the opinions of thousands of rival commercial lawyers. In addition, they acquire much confidential information about the client lists of major firms, and the transactions/deals they have been involved in.
The Legal 500 journalists and researchers are experienced professionals, who know their markets. They can provide the independent insight needed to produce a qualitative assessment of a country's finest legal practices.
The only way a law firm can get into the Legal 500 Law Firm Recommendations is on merit alone - if their researchers think they are good enough for inclusion. It is not possible for a firm to buy its way into the Editorial.
