Redundancies

People and Scissors ImageIf you find yourself in a position where your business has experienced a drop-off in business or a change in the way you need to do business, then you may need to make redundancies.

In this situation you need to make sure you act lawfully. The law on redundancy has moved on recently, requiring employers to be more accountable for their decisions than ever.

There are also consultation requirements before making redundancies. Collective Redundancy consultation rules apply if you are proposing to dismiss more than 20 employees in a 90 day period.

We can help with:

  • Avoiding redundancies
  • Preparing an appropriate Redundancy Procedure
  • Making sure you consult properly
  • Making sure you select for redundancy properly
  • Advising on what to pay redundant employees
