Board members at Salisbury law firm Trethowans are set to compete in a three-day car rally across Europe in order to raise money for charity.
Andrew Mercer, Chris Whiteley, Garry Treagust and Mike Watson of Trethowans will be competing in the Clock Tower Challenge at the end of this month, covering over a thousand miles across five countries, in order to raise funds for Salisbury Hospice.
The hospice provides Specialist Palliative Care Services for those with progressive, life-limiting diseases (including cancer) in the Wiltshire area. Their services are free of charge, and the hospice cares for over 180 patients at any one time, either at the hospice itself or by visiting patients at their homes or in hospital.
The Clock Tower Challenge will begin at Salisbury Guildhall Square on Friday 26th March. The rally will then visit Dover, Calais, Antwerp, Amsterdam, Xanten, Brussels, Paris and Amiens. The team will photograph the clock towers in each of the towns and cities, before returning back to Salisbury on the Sunday.
Commenting on the Clock Tower Challenge for Salisbury Hospice, Chairman Andrew Mercer said, "We’re really looking forward to participating in this fun and interesting challenge to raise money for the Salisbury Hospice. This is a charity that is local to us, and one that I am personally involved in as a trustee so I am delighted that Trethowans has got a team together and helping raise money for this worthwhile cause."
