TRETHOWANS SOLICITORS

Family Law Solicitors – Family & Divorce Law

Footprints in the sandThe Family Law Solicitors Team at Trethowans, headed up by partner Yvette Rooke, provide assistance and representation in all aspects of family law related matters.

These include pre nuptial contracts, cohabitation and parental responsibility agreements; child custody law; marriage, separation and divorce; cohabitation or civil partnership breakdown. Our family law solicitors can also assist with the issues of financial provision, arrangements for children and domestic violence. The two partners in the team, Andrew Mercer and Yvette Rooke, are both collaboratively trained (a no-court approach to separation and divorce).

Yvette Rooke explains, "At the outset of a relationship or with the contemplation of marriage or cohabitation, it is sensible to obtain advice on your legal obligations and responsibilities. The breakdown of a relationship and divorce can be a very emotional and worrying time and it is important to ensure that appropriate legal advice is obtained from the outset on your position, be it in relation to children or finances."

For many, the breakdown of a marriage into divorce can be seen as a journey. Initially there are the concerns and anxieties that come with a world that has been turned upside down. It is the family law solicitors role to accompany those on this journey and to see them into their brave new world.

The divorce process can take anything from six months to two years to complete. Over this time you will have a lot of dealings with your family law solicitor and it is important therefore that you are satisfied from the outset that the solicitor you instruct is one that you have confidence in and a rapport with.

Yvette continues, "Trethowans Family Law Team offer all new clients an initial free half hour family law interview.  This is all about the client getting to meet us and deciding whether they get on well enough with us to entrust us with their personal matters. "Yvette Rooke

Trethowans Family Law Team pride ourselves on dealing with all family law matters sympathetically and act in the client's best interest in order to bring about a negotiated solution.

All members of the Family Law Team subscribe to Resolution and its code of practice.  Resolution is an organisation of over 5,000 solicitors who believe in a constructive non-confrontational approach to Family Law matters. Please click here to find out more about Resolution.

Yvette concludes, "I am proud of the fact that my family law team offers clear advice that does not shy away from making those difficult decisions and from the outset we will give our clients clear guidance and set realistic expectations. All members of the family law team are passionate about their chosen discipline; they are approachable and very down to earth."
