Head & Spinal Injuries
Our personal injury team has experience and particular expertise in handling more serious cases, including head and spinal injuries. Such cases are life-changing for both the injured person and their family, which subsequently raise a number of important ongoing welfare issues that need to be fully addressed.
In cases involving serious injuries, the injured party is often unable to administer and manage their own financial affairs. In these circumstances we arrange for an application to the Court of Protection which will enable a member of the injured person's family or their solicitor to act on their behalf. Trethowans is often asked to act in this capacity by many of its clients. We can also prepare and review a Will or help to ensure that our client’s financial position is not compromised as the result of an award by advising on Special Needs Trusts.
In larger cases, we have direct contact with Case Managers and specialist rehabilitation experts are appointed to ensure that there is adequate provision of long term care and security for the injured person.
