Harassment

Harassment is another form of discrimination that has a very specific meaning: subjecting someone to unwanted conduct which violates their dignity or creates an intimidating, hostile, degrading, humiliating or offensive environment for them.

For most people, when they talk about “harassment”, it’s thought of in the context of sexual harassment and images of 1970s office politics however, harassment can apply to any type of protected characteristic.

The key to avoiding harassment claims is a clear policy, regular training and sensitivity towards employees’ feelings.
