No matter how good an employer you are and how well you treat your employees, there is nothing you can do to prevent someone from bringing an employment tribunal claim against you.

If you do find yourself facing tribunal proceedings; you’re not alone.  Over 200,000 tribunal claims are brought every year.

The most important thing for you to do if you receive a tribunal claim is to note the date by which a response is due.  If you miss this date, the likelihood is that you will not be allowed to submit a response.  In other words, the employee will win by default and you’ll have to pay compensation.
