Paperwork

The most important thing any employer can do to minimise the risk of employment tribunal claims and to improve relations with its employees is to make sure that it has in place the appropriate paperwork.

Having the correct documentation in place means that everyone knows what their rights and obligations are, what is expected of them and what they can expect in return.

In addition, instilling in all employees, and in particular your managers, the understanding of the importance of paperwork, means that you are more likely to ensure that any potential issues are properly documented.

The most important paperwork for all employers are contracts, policies and procedures.
