The type of transactions the pension property team deals with includes acquisitions, disposals, in-specie transfers and portfolio property management (e.g. lease renewals and licences), all directed to be pension regulations compliant.
The team will look at transactions and identify whether there is a better way of structuring them. Our aim is to simplify transactions. Case examples include:
saving over £10,000 work of stamp duty land tax as a result of restructuring an investment purchase; and
agreeing standard legal charge amendments for high street lenders to avoid breaches of pension regulations particularly in joint ownership situations.
This is as a result of Trethowans being a market leader in the pension property sector.
