The team taking part in a training walk
Intrepid mountain climbers from Trethowans corporate team are preparing to hit the treble by climbing three of the UK’s highest mountains this weekend. And, having smashed their fundraising target before even setting foot on steep terrain, they have doubled their fundraising target.
The team pledged to take on the challenge earlier this year in aid of the Joe Glover Trust, marking another step in the firm’s mission to do 150 good deeds in its 150th year.
The team have already raised £3,350 in donations including generous T-shirt sponsorships from the likes of Lakesmere Group, Menzies, aap3, Wilkins Kennedy, Taylor Made and Taylorcocks, and in response have upped their target to £5,000 in the week of the adventure.
Mike Watson, partner and head of the corporate team, said: “The support so far has been absolutely overwhelming and we never could have imagined we’d raise this much before we left. We’re never ones to shy away from a challenge so we’ve decided to increase our target and raise even more funds for this great local charity.”
The Joe Glover Trust, one of Trethowans’ charities of the year, provides support for children with cancer and their families.
The Trethowans team sets off on its challenge on Saturday, June 4. They will attempt to scale Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scaffel Pike in just 24 hours.
