Southampton and Salisbury based Trethowans Solicitors have made a £1,000 donation to the Joe Glover Trust, who are one of two nominated charities for the firm.
The Joe Glover Trust was formed in 2007 following the death of eight-year-old Joe Glover to non-hodgkins lymphoma. The Trust is run by parents who have first hand experience of these life changing events. The Joe Glover Trust strongly believes that no child suffering from cancer or their family should ever feel alone.
Jane Wilmshurst, Regional Officer at the Joe Glover Trust, who received the cheque, commented; "This will really help us continue to support families going through a very difficult time while their child is receiving treatment for cancer. In 2012 we have supported over 60 families with financial grants which is a substantial increase from previous years. In addition, we have developed other projects such as our Days Out Programme for children and their families, with theatre trips to London and the Watercress Line, and the iPad loan scheme. Trethowans’ support to the charity is invaluable and we really do appreciate it."
Bethany Blamire, an Associate and Chair of the Charities Committee at Trethowans Solicitors, and Suzanne Foster, an Associate and member of Trethowans’ Charities Committee, presented the cheque to Jane. Suzanne commented; “We are delighted to be able to make this donation to the Joe Glover Trust who make such a difference to children’s lives. All the children and their families are truly inspirational.”
