Qualifying as a solicitor in 1989 Andrew has been a Partner with Trethowans since 1995. He joined the Management Board in 2003 and became Chairman in 2009. Andrew is described in Chambers (2018) by sources who say: "He is pragmatic and excellent to work with." His clients include farm owners and a range of other professional individuals.
The Legal 500 (2017) highly regard Andrew as he ‘combines being a great leader and motivator with being a first-class collaborative lawyer’, he is ‘excellent with clients’ and ‘has the knowledge and ability to take on complex and high value cases’ including financial and children cases.
Andrew's main area of expertise is Family Law - divorce, separation, financial provision, civil partnerships and other related issues. He is particularly adept at handling complex, high net worth settlements which involve family partnerships, businesses, farms, foreign property or trusts. Additionally, Andrew has an expertise in the specialist financial nature of Armed Forces related issues. He also advises clients on pre and post nuptial agreements as well as issues relating to children.
Andrew is a long standing member with Resolution, which is an independent body representing solicitors who specialise in family work.
Andrew trained as a collaborative lawyer in 2005 and firmly believes in the benefit of a non-confrontational, no Court approach to the resolution of issues relating to both finance and children arising from relationship breakup.
Away from the office...

Both Andrew and his son are long standing season ticket holders with Bath Rugby.
