Gary is a Partner and Head of the Private Client group and a member of the firm's board.
Gary graduated from Warwick University with a Law Degree then joined Dickinson Manser as a trainee solicitor in 1981. Gary became a Partner in the firm in 1986 and became Senior Partner in October 2011 until its merger with Trethowans on the 1 October 2015.
Having worked at Dickinson Manser for 34 years Gary was delighted to be able to negotiate "with Managing Partner Mark Daniels " regarding the merger with Trethowans.

Gary specialises in estate administration, advising on an establishing trusts, trust administration, Inheritance and Capital Gains Tax planning, the preparation of Wills, Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection work, with a particular interest in succession planning and wealth management. Gary acts as Executor and Trustee as well as Attorney and also Court of Protection Deputy for a considerable number of clients.
Gary is a full member of STEP (The Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners) membership of which is recognised as the "industry standard" for private client professionals.
Gary aims to give sensible and practical legal advice to his clients in a clear and easily understandable manner with a friendly approach.

Away from the office...
Gary is married to Julie who is also a solicitor and currently President of the Bournemouth & District Law Society (BDLS). Gary is extremely proud that he and Julie are the first married couple whereby both have had the honour of being appointed President of the BDLS.
Gary has represented Dorset at both lawn green bowls and bridge. He captained LEX XI, the BDLS cricket team for 20 years and took them on both foreign and overseas tours.....to Wales and the Isle of Wight! Both he and Julie are both currently keen golfers at Dudsbury Golf Club in Poole. In any spare time Gary enjoys cooking…with a glass of wine!
