Jenni is a solicitor in the Commercial Property Team. She qualified in November 2012 after achieving a Distinction in her Legal Practice Course at Cardiff University and completing a two year Training Contract with Trethowans.
Jenni's work involves acting for businesses and individual clients in acquiring and disposing of commercial properties, which include retail premises, industrial units and mixed-use developments. Jenni also assists clients in granting or taking commercial leases and specialises in property pension investment transactions.
Jenni has complimentary experience in commercial litigation and insurance litigation which allows her to apply a commercially focused approach to her property work, offering clients an efficient and cost-effective service.
Examples of how Jenni has helped clients include:
- Structuring the acquisition of two retail units as a Transfer of a Going Concern, resulting in a substantial VAT saving for the client.
- Dealing with a complex sale of a commercial property where the seller's title was incomplete.
- Acting for a client in the purchase of a property from liquidators where the title information was extremely limited.
- Negotiating surrender terms with an uncooperative Tenant so the Landlord could obtain vacant possession.
Away from the Office…
Jenni enjoys baking and decorating cakes and cupcakes and often spends her weekends trying out new recipes. One of her more successful baking creations was awarded second place in a national magazine's 'Bake-Off' competition. She also enjoys reading and plays the piano and flute.
