CAREER HISTORY: Sam graduated from the University of Southampton in 2011 with 2:1 Honours in Law. Having spent four and a half years in management as a wine merchant, Sam then successfully completed the LPC with Distinction at the University of Law in 2016. Sam started his training contract in September 2016, with his first seat being Commercial Property.
AWAY FROM THE OFFICE: Sam enjoys travelling to new places having travelled extensively around the world (perhaps, not by coincidence, a large proportion of which are wine growing regions!). Sam is also a lover of food and likes to both eat out and cook at home whilst listening to Motown.
Fortunately, Sam likes to keep fit, having previously served in the Royal Engineers in the Territorial Army and being an Endurance Training Leader. Sam likes to relax on Sunday afternoons by enjoying long walks in the countryside.
WHY I CHOSE TRETHOWANS: Whilst Sam was a wine merchant, he met several people in the firm who always came across as kind and interesting people who were passionate about their work.
In addition, a number of fellow graduates from the University of Southampton had joined the firm and spoke very highly about the caibre of the work undertaken and the excellent training that they had received.
This inspired Sam to choose Trethowans as the place to do his training contract.
