Sandra has recently joined Trethowans as a Consultant Solicitor and Notary Public. She has been qualified as a solicitor over 30 years and throughout that period has specialised in licensing law, acting for many clients nationwide within the entertainment, leisure and tourism sectors from individuals to public limited companies. She has been involved from a licensing perspective over the years in the set up of many retail parks throughout the country. Her clients have included hoteliers, pubs, clubs restaurants together with many sporting-centred premises including horse & greyhound stadia, football clubs, golf clubs, leisure & ten-pin bowling centres as well as holiday and caravan parks. Sandra conducts her own advocacy in various tribunals and magistrates’ courts across the country.
Coupled with her licensing specialism, Sandra has developed a practice in planning law acting for individuals and organisations where issues of planning law and enforcement have required technical application such as breaches of planning conditions, enforcement notices and particularly issues of both a planning and licensing nature relating to noise issues.
Sandra is Vice Chair & Regional Secretary for the South West Region of the Institute of Licensing; Affiliate member of the Institute of Acoustics; and member of NAPE (National Association of Planning Enforcement). She is closely involved with several tourism & leisure organisations.
Sandra is one of a relatively few solicitors also qualified as a Notary Public in which capacity she can authenticate documents for use in countries worldwide and offers such services to both corporate organisations & individuals, including arranging for apostilles and legalisation of foreign documents. She is a member of the Notaries Society and the Law Society.
