Slipping accident

One morning Mrs L walked into a NAAFI shop in Germany to do her shopping (this was on a German base and therefore English law applies).

She walked through the main doors and had walked approximately 4 or 5 metres into the shop at which point her right foot slipped from under her and she fell to the floor. The ceramic smooth tiled floor was wet. No warning signs had been erected to warn customers that there was water on the floor and the floor was subsequently slippery.

Mrs L sustained pain and swelling in her left wrist which settled within 6 weeks and a soft tissue injury with restricted movement in her right ankle which settled within 6 months.

We successfully negotiated a settlement of £4,300.00 to compensate Mrs L for her injuries, pain and suffering and financial losses as a result of the accident.

Mrs L praised “the tenacity and hard work of Trethowans and Frances Gillett”.
