6 months on from wins at the Dorset Legal Awards

06 Sep 2019

It has been a whirlwind 6 months for Trethowans’ Family and Personal Injury teams, since their respective wins at the Dorset Legal Awards 2019.

Personal injury

Since winning Personal Injury Team of the Year, our Dorset team has settled claims worth in the region of £1m of damages.
As well as providing stellar client care – they were the only team in all of the categories at the awards to be given full marks in the mystery shopper task. They continue to support numerous charities such as Headway and the Spinal Injuries Association.

Over the next 6 months the team hope to continue to grow and expand with their newest team member starting this week. James Braund, Senior Associate says: “I am still over the moon to have won this award. It is fantastic to have received such recognition for the hard work that the Personal Injury Team does in Dorset in assisting people, who have unfortunately suffered significant, and sometimes life changing, injuries in helping them get their lives back on track.”

Family Team

The Family team too have had a busy few months since their win as Family Team of the Year, with the roll out of their very successful and highly innovative New Beginnings workshops, aimed at helping those contemplating separation. Working side by side with other experts the team are able to guide and signpost their clients through the most difficult of circumstances, ensuring they can access not only the legal assistance they need, but emotional support too.

The team continue to have a busy workload consisting of not only the more standard family related work but also international surrogacy and fertility work.

The team will be further expanding with the addition of a new lawyer starting next month and Kimberley Davies has recently received Law Society accredited status in respect of her Mediation work.

With the team playing an active role in Dorset’s legal and business community by being Dorset Chamber Ambassadors, Chair of Dorset Resolution and Chair of Bournemouth CILEx, the team certainly aren’t afraid to get stuck in.

Kimberley Davies, Partner, says: “I could never have imagined the speed of growth achieved in Dorset in such a relatively short period of time. The positive feedback we have received from our clients suggests we are really helping them – which is exactly what we are here to do. Winning Family Team of the Year really was the icing on the cake”.

With enthusiastic staff and several new recruits on the horizon, it is very much hoped that the next 6 months will be as successful as the last for Trethowans.
