New Limits on Employment Tribunal Awards

The annual changes to the amounts Employment Tribunal’s may award took effect on 1 February.

The key increases are:

  • the limit on a week’s pay rises from £380 to £400;
  • the limit on a basic award for unfair dismissal rises to £12,000;
  • the limit on a compensatory award for unfair dismissal rises to £68,400;
  • the daily guaranteed limit during temporary lay-offs rises to £22.20;
  • the prescribed rate for Statutory Maternity and Paternity Pay rises to £128.73 (or 90% of normal weekly earnings if lower).
  • Statutory Sick Pay rises to £81.60 a week with effect from 11 April.
