Night of magic and prizes raise thousands for charity
A night of fun hosted by Trethowans has helped to raise more than £4,700 for charity.
The law firm’s annual charity dinner and auction in support of the Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) took part at the White Hart Hotel in Salisbury last week. Thanks to the generous donations of those in attendance, £4,705 was raised for the charity.
Among the money-spinning initiatives that contributed towards the fundraising total, were a raffle and auction where prizes included Manchester United v Southampton tickets and a chance to see Cirque Du Soleil – OVO at The Royal Albert Hall. A three course dinner and a magician also helped to ensure the night went with a swing.
Rhiannon Daniel, Senior Associate in the personal injury team and who helps to organise the event annually for the charity, said: “It was a fantastic night and we were humbled by the way everyone dug deep for the Spinal Injuries Association. It’s a cause very close to our hearts here at Trethowans and we are thrilled to be able to raise money that will support its vital work.”
SIA Advocacy Manager, Simon Pinnell attended the event for the fourth year in a row and explained how important fundraising evenings are for the charity “As a charity, we receive no public funds whatsoever and are totally reliant on fundraising and donations to support our services so event such as this are key to enabling us to support Spinal Cord Injured people and their families to live fulfilled lives. We are incredibly grateful to the hard work of all at Trethowans who make this evening possible and to those who attended and gave so generously on the night.”
Trethowans is a long-standing supporter of the Spinal Injuries Association. The personal injury team is a Gold supporter of the charity and last year employees took on a 68 mile walk and climbed over the O2 to raise further funds for the cause.
