Rhiannon Daniel, a specialist personal injury solicitor at Salisbury and Southampton based law firm Trethowans, has raised much needed funds for the Back Up Trust.

On Sunday 8 July, Rhiannon was one of 25,000 competitors who completed the annual 10k London run.  Rhiannon decided to complete the run in aid of the charity, the Back Up Trust.

The Back Up Trust, which was established in 1986, provides support for people who have been affected by spinal cord injuries, regardless of age, level of injury, or background. The charity supports individuals with spinal cord injury as well as the families of those affected by a spinal cord injury.

Their services include mentoring, wheelchair skills training and activity courses as well as support in getting back to work or school after an injury. All their services help to build confidence and independence.

The charity’s focus is to help people rebuild their life and achieve their goals – whether these are about family, work, lifestyle, social life, travel, or simply to feel positive about the future.

Commenting on the charity run, Rhiannon said; “A lot of our clients use the services of the Back Up Trust, for example skiing holidays, and get benefit from it.  It is a very worthwhile cause which helps to positively change and influence our clients’ lives following spinal injury.  I completed the race in 57 minutes which was under my goal of an hour. I was pleased to have raised in excess of £200 for this cause and I know that every penny will be put to good use in helping those affected by spinal injuries.”
