We have once again reinforced our position as a key player in the regional market with a number of commendations in the latest edition of the Legal 500.

The Legal 500 independently assesses law firms throughout the country with Trethowans receiving praise for 17 teams and 22 individual experts in their fields.

Managing partner Chris Whiteley said he was delighted with the rankings which clearly demonstrate the firm’s expertise in a wide range of disciplines.

“Trethowans has continued to expand over the last twelve months which has allowed us to offer an even wider range of legal knowledge and experience. We are very pleased this has been recognised in the latest rankings”.

“We have been commended in areas of law from commercial to private client and our merger with Poole-based Dickinson Manser will enable us to build on our expertise still further in the future.”

In addition to the team and individual rankings, the firm was also awarded top tier status for the South West for commercial property work in the region.

The guide says that Gary Treagust’s team has particular expertise in commercial property transactions for pension funds and the Legal 500 also commended Caroline Probert for her understanding of client needs.

Key areas of success also include the firm’s corporate and commercial department where head of team Mike Watson was praised for his tactical astuteness and knowledge of what the clients want from a deal. There was also praise for Nick Gent, Paula Eckton and Lucy Grey.

Simon Rhodes who leads the firms’ employment team was described as outstanding.

The firm also ranked highly for licensing, dispute resolution, finance, personal injury and private client work.
