Trethowans scores prestigious legal ranking
Trethowans, has been ranked in one of the UK legal industry’s most prestigious lists.
The firm has had 16 lawyers across 14 practice areas listed in the renowned Chambers 2016 directory. It comes just weeks after the firm achieved a string of commendations in the Legal 500, including top tier status for the south west for its commercial property work in the region.
Chambers UK is an annual publication which lists the very top lawyers in the UK, based on feedback and recommendations from clients and peers. Among the Trethowans practice areas heralded in this year’s list were the real estate, private client, litigation, family and employment teams. The firm’s corporate M&A (mergers and acquisitions) division climbed up the rankings this year, coming in at band two. A number of practice areas retained their top rankings of band one, including clinical negligence, personal injury and agriculture and rural affairs. Other divisions to rank were banking and finance together with licensing.
16 individual lawyers were also ranked, with several partners including Simon Rhodes, Marcus Thorpe and Elizabeth Webbe featuring in band one.
Trethowans managing partner Chris Whiteley said: “This really is the icing on the cake for what’s been an incredible year for Trethowans. Chambers UK is the go-to guide to the very best legal professionals in the country and we are delighted that so many members of our team are listed. It is testament to the expertise and impeccable service that our lawyers provide, day in, day out.”
2015 has been a big year for Trethowans, having significantly expanded the team, moved to bigger premises and, most recently, merging with Poole-based Dickinson Manser to expand the firm’s geographical reach.
