Maxine is an Associate in the Commercial Litigation team at Trethowans, having joined the firm as a solicitor in January 2019 after qualifying with another firm in the region. She works from both the Southampton and Salisbury offices.

Her primary specialisms are in commercial contract disputes, constructions disputes, property litigation and contentious probate. Maxine works with a broad range of clients including developers, owner-managed businesses, landlords, pension trusts, charities, and private individuals. She takes pride in building a strong rapport and trust with clients, allowing her to fully understand their commercial objectives and put in place an effective strategy to push forward resolution of the dispute.

Maxine regularly provide in-house legal training to clients, tailored to their areas of practice. She is happy to be contacted in relation to providing bespoke training.

Notable work highlights

  • Acted for a local charity in robustly defending a meritless claim brought by their former landlord, who sought to frustrate their termination of the lease, concluding in the claim being discontinued and the charity’s costs paid in full.
  • Acted for a client who had lost her pension entitlement following negligent advice in her matrimonial and divorce proceedings, resulting in a negotiated settlement of £90,000 damages being paid to the client.
