Head and Brain Injuries
If you have suffered a head or brain injury, our expert team of Personal Injury solicitors are on hand to help you with your claim for compensation. With our expert knowledge and experience, we know and understand the particular issues which are faced by our head-injured clients, and their families.
We can help to get you the care, rehabilitation, therapy, aids, equipment and accommodation you need. We work with carers, case managers, therapists and medical experts to help our clients’ rehabilitation process and to rebuild our clients’ lives.
We are on the Headway – The Brain Injury Association personal injury solicitors list.
During your claim, we are likely to obtain expert evidence from a range of different experts so that we have the necessary information about our client’s injuries and needs. We will obtain medical reports from experts such as neurologists, neuropsychologists and/or neuropsychiatrists. These experts will examine you and assess your disabilities and how they affect your life now and in the future.
We will investigate equipment and adaptations that are likely to help you by getting evidence from experts in technology, occupational therapy, mobility and accommodation/housing. We may also ask experts such as physiotherapists and speech therapists to assess your needs and whether there is further treatment which could assist you.
Most importantly, we will ask a care expert to assess what kind of care and support you need to live as full a life as possible.
The amount of care that is needed varies depending on the severity of the injuries. It may be that a 24 hour care regime is needed or that having a “buddy support” system would help you and your family. Experts will assess this and advise on what is most suitable for your needs.
We will act to get you interim payments from the defendant insurance company wherever possible to pay for the help that you need.
We are committed to working to achieve long term care and financial security for our clients. When you instruct us, you know that we have the experience and expertise for dealing with all the complexities of head injury cases. We know the important issues and will work to get you the best possible outcome.
If you are no longer capable of managing your financial affairs, we can also help and advise on applications to the Court of Protection to enable a family member or a solicitor to act on your behalf as your deputy.
