Gerrard is a second-year trainee solicitor, due to qualify in September 2019. He is currently undertaking his third seat in the busy Commercial Property team which advises corporate and private clients across the country. Gerrard provides support to fee earners across a wide range of commercial property matters but has a particular interest in asset finance transactions. Gerrard can draw on his own finance background to add value where bespoke security structures or priority arrangements are needed.
Gerrard started his training contract on secondment with Meridian Corporate Finance having previously worked as a paralegal in Trethowans’ Banking team: he brings this transactional experience to his current work, particularly when advising lenders or corporate borrowers on security matters.
Gerrard read Law at University College London, graduating with a 2:1 in Law in 2010.
Thereafter he spent time in both the public and private sectors in demanding management roles but returned to pursue his dream of a legal career, completing the LPC at the University of Law (achieving Commendation) before joining Trethowans.
Away from the office
Gerrard serves as an Army Reservist Officer and enjoys pushing himself physically and calisthenics. He swims, cycles and runs so that he can camouflage his questionable eating habits.
In between workouts Gerrard enjoys learning about and dabbling in cryptocurrencies.
