Gerrard is a trainee at Trethowans and is due to qualify as a solicitor in 2019. He is currently undertaking his third seat in the Commercial Property team.
Gerrard read law at University College London, graduating with a 2:1 in Law in 2010. Thereafter, he spent time in both the public and private sectors in demanding management roles but returned to pursue his dream of a career in law, completing the LPC at the University of Law (achieving Commendation) before joining Trethowans.
Trethowans is an ambitious and aspiring Top 150 law firm which has carefully guarded its culture despite its growth and outturn. This is a difficult balance to strike but the list of long-serving members of staff and strong lateral hires is testament to the firm’s success in this approach. Gerrard joined at an exciting time of expansion; in particular, he joined when the Banking team was growing and found himself gainfully employed immediately within a technically superb and supportive team. He is hoping to return to the Banking department for the last part of his training contract. Having had the benefit of spending 18 months working at Trethowans before beginning a training contract with the firm, Gerrard could attest to the culture and knew that his robustness and enthusiasm would be rewarded with lots of early responsibility and high-quality work: he hasn’t been disappointed.
Away from the office
Gerrard serves as an Army Reservist Officer and enjoys pushing himself physically and calisthenics. He swims, cycles and runs so that he can camouflage his questionable eating habits.
In between workouts Gerrard enjoys learning about and dabbling in cryptocurrencies.
