Laura is a solicitor in the Commercial Property Team in Southampton. She graduated from Durham University in 2010 with a first class honours degree and worked in-house for one of the country’s largest property services providers before joining Trethowans in 2014.
Laura advises clients on all types of commercial property transactions, including acquisitions and disposals and Landlord and Tenant matters. She also advises on acquisitions and disposals of development land for residential and commercial developers and assists the firm’s corporate team with the property elements of their transactions.
Laura acts for a variety of clients including developers, pension schemes, corporations, investors, plcs, individuals and banks.
Laura is a member of the Southampton Property Association.

Acting for a developer in the acquisition and subsequent divide up of a development site into 19 units, being a combination of freehold houses and leasehold flats with estate and buildings service charges.
Working alongside the firm’s corporate team in a sale of a holiday park for over £30,000,000. Dealing with the property elements of the transaction, including deducing title, replying to enquiries and negotiating warranties and disclosure.
Acting for a Bank in the secured lending of over £2,000,000 over a London dock-side warehouse development including analysing and reporting on complex future occupational lease arrangements.
Working for a client with a portfolio of over 20 leasehold and freehold properties including advising on the acquisition of new proprietary interests and the disposal of ones no longer required.

Away from the office
Laura is a daily gym user and enjoys long walks, great food, adventure holidays and driving her Triumph Herald around the Hampshire countryside. Laura volunteers for a mental heath support charity on a weekly basis and is the Chair of the firm’s Charities Committee.
