Case Study
- Representing a self-insuring company in relation to a motor claim involving credit hire and vehicle repairs. Liability was not in dispute between the parties but the sum being claimed for hire – exceeding £17,000 – was heavily disputed. A detailed review of the claimant’s finances led to questions surrounding their need to hire the type of vehicle hired and whether full disclosure had been provided. Part 18 questions were asked of the claimant. A settlement was agreed in the sum of £8,000 for credit hire by way of the defendant’s offer.
- Representing a claimant in relation to her personal injuries arising out of a fall. The claimant had fallen on a unmarked, raised portion of flooring. She caused injuries to her wrist and nose in the fall. The matter proceeded through the MOJ Portal and a settlement was agreed at over £14,500.
