Ellie is an Apprentice Solicitor with experience supporting of a wide range of charities and not-for-profit organisations. Her work involves helping to advise on legal and regulatory frameworks, helping clients strengthen governance structures, manage risk, and ensure compliance with statutory obligations. Ellie works with clients across the sector – from newly established organisations and small community groups to large national charities, including educational institutions
Ellie joined Trethowans as a Paralegal in 2024 after graduating with a Law degree from the University of Exeter. She is currently studying for the SQE exams as part of her solicitor qualification journey.
Notable work highlights
- Formed part of the team that introduced the ‘Forum for Charities’, to help trustees and senior leadership teams to grow, connect and learn.
- Experience assisting with advising charities and other not for profit organisations.
- Worked as part of the team in advising charities and trustees in their personal capacity in urgent and/or sensitive situations including assisting in managing risk and reputation.
- Contributed to the work involved in academy mergers and acquisitions.
- Provided support on charity incorporations.
- Co-presented Trustee Training.
- Participated in the drafting and filing of UK trade mark applications, conducted research into AI and copyright matters under domestic and international legislation, and provided intellectual property advice.
