Trethowans are pleased to announce their shortlisting in three categories at the South Coast Deals Awards 2025, hosted by The Business Magazine. The firm is a finalist for Corporate Law Firm of the Year and for Deal of the Year (Over £50m) for advising on the sale of Total AV to Pango. In addition, partner Nick Gent has been individually recognised as a finalist in the Lawyer of the Year category.
This year’s awards ceremony will take place at a black-tie event at the Hilton at the Utilita Bowl in Southampton on Thursday 11 September.
Independent judges, working alongside the magazine’s core panel, reviewed a wide range of entries across the region’s corporate finance sector. The shortlist recognises the outstanding work and dedication of firms and individuals who have made a significant impact over the past year.
The Corporate Law Firm of the Year category, sponsored by Meridian Corporate Finance, is awarded to the law firm that has had the most significant impact on the completion of deals within the region. Judging criteria include deal volume and size, deal complexity, client satisfaction, timeliness, ethics and client retention.
The Lawyer of the Year category, sponsored by Pangea Life, recognises the lawyer who has had the most significant impact on deal completions in the region. Successful candidates demonstrate excellence in navigating complex transactions and providing valuable legal counsel to ensure successful outcomes.
The Large Deal of the Year (Over £50m) category, sponsored by HSBC Bank plc, will be presented to the deal which is the most significant in terms of its complexity, innovative solution, speed of completion and impact on businesses involved, and impact on local economy.
As always, the evening promises to be a celebration of excellence, bringing together the South Coast’s leading dealmakers, advisors and professionals for a night of recognition and networking.
