The charities team at Trethowans hosted a programme of webinars covering a range of legal topics for charity trustees, employees and volunteers.

This webinar was split into two parts. In the first part we discussed why data protection legislation (including the UK GDPR) is relevant to charities and what charities need to do to ensure they comply with the UK GDPR. We then moved on in the second part to discuss data subject assess requests (DSARs) in detail as we have seen a marked increase in organisations receiving DSARs which can be time consuming and challenging to deal with. We covered issues such as time limits for responding, search parameters, the application of exemptions from the obligation to provide personal data and what needs to be included in the response to the individual making the DSAR.

This free webinar was hosted on Tuesday 19 March 2024 from 11am – 12pm on Zoom.
