Trethowans is delighted to announce the appointment of Karen Perugini as a Partner in its Private Client team, based in the Salisbury office.

Karen brings over 20 years of experience in Private Client law having previously trained and worked at Trethowans and is known for her clear, compassionate approach and technical expertise. She advises individuals, families, farmers and business owners on estate and succession planning, complex tax matters including Agricultural Relief (AR), Business Relief (BR) and Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and the creation and administration of trusts.

Karen’s work also includes will drafting for a wide range of family circumstances, estate administration involving high-value and complex assets and preparing Powers of Attorney for both personal and business matters.

Karen commented: “I’m excited to have joined Trethowans and a team that shares my commitment to delivering practical and comprehensive advice to clients. I look forward to working with colleagues across the firm and continuing to support clients through some of life’s most important decisions.”

Karen’s arrival comes at a pivotal time, with mounting speculation that the upcoming Autumn Budget could introduce reforms to inheritance tax, lifetime gifting rules and the treatment of capital gains. Any changes in these areas could have significant implications for individuals and families looking to preserve and transfer wealth.

Mihiri Gajraj, Head of Private Client, added: “Karen is a fantastic addition to our growing team. Her depth of experience and client-focused approach align perfectly with our values at Trethowans. We’re excited to welcome Karen and know she will make a significant contribution to our Private Client offering.”
