On 14 June 2023, Trethowans in Winchester launched the first of series of free workshops for those facing divorce or separation. The workshops aim to provide the tools they need to help themselves and their children post-separation.

The first workshop, which took place at Hotel Du Vin, Winchester, was supported by three experts – Ashley Palmer (Child Psychotherapist), Nikki Emerton (Lifestyle Coach), Petra Brunzell (Divorce Coach) and Julie Jackson (House of Colour specialist) – to provide well-rounded and considered guidance for those going through or about to commence their own journey through separation and divorce.  It is recognised that, for many, the varying expertise of other professionals is hugely important to help make lasting and workable arrangements whether dealing with their financial concerns, arrangements for children or the processes surrounding divorce and separation.

Trethowans are advocates for adopting a holistic approach for parents who are facing relationship difficulties and are proud to work with third parties to ensure that their clients receive well-rounded advice and care. Trethowans continue to offer a free initial consultation to those looking to understand more about their legal position, and find out about what legal options (such as mediation, collaborative law or arbitration) may be the right for them.

Emma Wilders-Pratt, Head of the Winchester Office and Family Law Partner, said “We are delighted with the feedback we have received from our delegates, and are sure that the information provided by the experts will assist them to move forward with positive co-parenting techniques, whilst ensuring that they are mindful of looking after themselves during what can be an extremely difficult time in their life”.

One of the delegates commented “This was absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much. You really have changed my ideas about divorce in a more positive way.”

Further workshops are planned in Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire from 9.15am to 2.15pm on the following dates:

  • 4 October 2023 – Hotel Du Vin, Poole
  • 15 November 2023 – Macdonald Botley Park Hotel, Southampton
  • 17 January 2024 – Mercure White Hart Hotel, Salisbury
