Managing Financial Risk in the Supply Chain Legal and Practical Considerations for In-House Counsel, procurement and sales teams (2)

Join us on Thursday 8 May at 10.30am for a webinar exploring the key financial risks in the supply chain and how in-house legal, procurement and sales teams can navigate them.

Date: Thursday 8 May 2025
Time: 10.30am to 11.30am
Where: Zoom (register here)

Our session will be lead by Melia Hirst, Partner and Head of Restructuring and Insolvency at Trethowans LLP,  joined by guest speaker, Sarah Collins, Managing Director from the Restructuring and Turnaround team at Alvarez & Marsal.  Alvarez & Marsal deliver advisory, business performance improvement, and turnaround management services to maximise stakeholder value.

From customer or supplier insolvency to contract risks, we’ll discuss practical steps to protect your business from vulnerability where a party in the supply chain suffers financial distress.  We’ll also cover the challenges of managing contracts with large customers, including when key suppliers are nominated by them or where there is a reselling arrangement.

In this session we will address:

  • How to identify financial risk in the supply chain and what due diligence to undertake before and during the term of the contract to alert you to early warning signs
  • Supply chain vulnerabilities in the current economic climate
  • What steps to take when a counterparty is at risk of failing
  • How to navigate the process around a counterparty’s formal insolvency
  • Key contractual safeguards to promote business continuity
  • Opportunities arising out of the failure in the supply chain

This session is designed for in-house counsel, procurement, and sales teams looking to strengthen their approach to supply chain risk management.
