Are the UK’s personal injury reforms working?

Partner Kelvin Farmaner and Paul Lavelle, Technical Claims Manager at Van Ameyde, co-wrote the Insurance Day article looking into the UK’s personal injury reforms.
In their article, they examine more than a decade of reforms to personal injury claims in the UK, intended to deliver greater efficiency and cost savings. While initiatives such as the MOJ Portal, the Civil Liability Act 2018, the OIC Portal and new court tracks have transformed the process, the authors argue that the piecemeal and fragmented nature of implementation has undermined their effectiveness. The result is a system that remains overly complex, inconsistently applied, and often confusing for practitioners. The authors call for a more coordinated, holistic approach to future reform.
