Trethowans renews sponsorship with Dorset landmark venue Bournemouth Pavilion
Trethowans has renewed its sponsorship of Bournemouth Pavilion for another two years as part of its ongoing drive to give back to the communities it serves.
The support will go towards maintaining the destination’s beautiful art deco Grade II listed venue.
Bournemouth Pavilion, which originally partnered with Trethowans in 2018, is now in its 94th year of operation. Its theatre hosts more than 350 cultural and entertainment performances every year including musicals, pantomimes, dance, comedy and concerts. Furthermore, an extensive programme of tea dances, dinners, community events and exhibitions, takes place in its ballroom which overlooks the sea and gardens.
BH Live is a charitable social enterprise. It runs Bournemouth Pavilion in partnership with BCP Council. Matthew Goode, BH Live’s Marketing Director, said: “Bournemouth Pavilion is an important local landmark packed with cultural heritage. As custodians we have a responsibility to make sure the venue meets the needs of audiences today, and for many more years to come.
“We have a longstanding relationship with Trethowans because it is a trusted local firm that shares our community focused ethos and values. So, we are delighted it has extended our partnership for two more years, supporting the town’s theatre which brings so much joy and wellbeing to so many.”
Built in the 1920s, Bournemouth Pavilion is loved by locals and tourists alike, attracting huge crowds every year. It is in the process of refurbishing its main bar area and fly tower above the stage (used to raise and lower screens for sets in plays).
Also, it recently added a complex WiFi system, modern stage lighting and ten digital screens to advertise shows and inform visitors.
Chris Whiteley, Senior Partner at Trethowans, added: “Bournemouth Pavilion is one of the town’s most recognised theatrical venues and a major attraction, drawing people from all over the UK. We are very pleased to renew our sponsorship and continue our support of this important local community institution.”
