Mihiri Gajraj, Partner and Head of Private Client at Trethowans, is celebrating a decade of leadership and private client expertise with the firm. Since joining as an associate in 2015 and becoming an equity partner 8 years later, Mihiri has played a pivotal role in shaping the Private Client team, driving its growth and success.

Mihiri comments on her anniversary “Ten years ago I made the move to Trethowans, and it was the best decision I could have made for my career. I remember my first day being the sole permanent private client team member in the Southampton office and it’s incredible to think how our team has grown so that there are now 15 of us in Southampton. I’m so lucky to work within such a great firm with such good people and a supportive environment.”

Mihiri has significant involvement in the professional development and promotions of her team members. Katie Hawkins, Apprentice Solicitor, says “Mihiri’s expertise and guidance has led the team from strength to strength. Mihiri has built an amazing Private Client team while providing constant support to anyone that has asked, especially to our trainees. Mihiri is genuinely invested in each of our developments, pushing us to achieve our goals and to progress in our careers. The Private Client team would be at a loss without her and thank her for all that she has done in the past 10 years.”

Mihiri is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and ranked as a Leading Partner in the Legal 500 2025 guide where she is described as “exceptional” and “a pleasure to work with”. She is also ranked as Band 1 for Private Wealth Law (Southampton and Surrounds) in the most recent Chambers High Net Worth Guide.

Mihiri is a fantastic and supportive leader and John Maddock, Senior Associate in the Wills, Trusts & Probate team, tells us that “Having first worked with Mihiri at a previous firm over 15 years ago I was very pleased to be given the opportunity of working with her again.  Mihiri is very easy to work with and really understands what it means to work as part of a team. You always feel that she has your back which is a quality I admire.”

Congratulations Mihiri on an impactful 10 years at Trethowans.
