Trethowans donates over £10,000 to their chosen charities

Jumper

Trethowans has donated over £10,000 to its chosen charities as a special New Year gift.

Nominated by Trethowans’ employees, the firm nominates a charity in each of the counties it is based, Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire. The charities, The Southern Spinal Injuries TrustAbby’s Heroes and Hope for Food, have each been donated over £3,000 by the firm.

These charities receive regular support from Trethowans, which normally holds fundraising initiatives, such as cake sales and dress down days throughout the year. With many staff working from home, fundraising was slightly different in 2020, so the firm set up an online donations page for staff in lieu of the usual fundraising activities and also held a ‘virtual’ Christmas jumper day, all of which raised additional funds.

Chris Whiteley, Trethowans’ Managing Partner, said: “It has been a difficult year for everyone but charities in particular have suffered from reduced income during the Covid-19 pandemic. We are pleased to make a charitable donation of nearly £3,000 on behalf of our hardworking team to each of our chosen charities. We hope the money will help them reach their objectives in 2021 and carry on their amazing work.”
