As members of Resolution, our family law solicitors take a constructive, non-confrontational approach: listening, understanding and seeking to find the best way forward for you and your family.

Our Family Law Solicitors are experts in alternative dispute resolution and offer a range of options as an alternative to going to Court including collaborative law and mediation. If your case does require a judge’s input, we will represent you with strength and clarity.

What is Resolution?

Resolution is a national community of family law professionals who work with families and individuals to resolve issues in a constructive, sensitive and conciliatory way. Resolution also actively lobbies for changes in the law and one of the biggest success stories to date is the introduction of ‘no fault divorce’ and Resolution Together.  This is a model whereby a couple can divorce together, with one lawyer advising both of them.  Trethowans are pleased to be able to offer this service to their clients in appropriate circumstances.

Resolution have over 6,500 professional members and 39 regional groups including solicitors, legal executives, students, judges, barristers, experts and academics. Grant Cameron, Partner in the Family Team at Trethowans, is the current National Chair of Resolution.

As a body, Resolution provides excellent training and support to all their members allowing family law professionals of all qualification to grow, personally within their own careers and hopefully in its mission to actively help others along the way.
