Amy is a solicitor in the Private Client team based in our Southampton office. She qualified as a solicitor in 2018 and joined Trethowans in 2021.

Amy provides advice in a range of areas applicable to private clients, both assisting them in putting in place their own affairs and managing the affairs of others.

Amy assists clients in the preparation of Wills and Codicils and provide advice on the potential Inheritance Tax consequences of their instructions, offering solutions where practical and available. She is also able to provide advice on lifetime Inheritance Tax planning.

Amy advises on and prepare Lasting Powers of Attorney for both personal and business use, and particularly enjoys assisting clients with the preparation of Health and Welfare Lasting Powers of Attorney and helping them put into words their wishes and feelings regarding their ongoing care and health decisions.

Amy can assist clients in administering Estates in their role as Executor, either providing ad hoc advice where necessary, obtaining Grant of Probate on their behalf or assisting in full Estate Administration. Amt regularly deals with estates that are subject to Inheritance Tax, and guide clients through the process with HMRC and apply for reliefs where available.
